Agenda Items

Accounts

Up to date accounts were circulated and approved.

WLDC Infrastructure Levy remaining funds available to spend stands at £1787.61

The balance of the remaining funds available to spend stands at £1787.61.

Insurance

The Chairman confirmed that the original fee quoted was £548.76, more than 50% of the Council’s annual Precept payment which was too high. As a result of contact with Clear Insurance the fee could be reduced by 10% by signing up for 3 years with an additional saving of approximately £160 for legal fees which is included in the premium. After some discussion and scrutiny of the policy it was agreed unanimously to go ahead with the savings. The Chairman and Clerk to action.

Council-owned email address

The Clerk forwarded information to the Council regarding new guide lines from the Smaller Authorities Proper Practices Panel requirements to hold a generic email account hosted on an authority owned domain. The Council discussed the issue and agreed the email address should be changed to incorporate the name of the Parish Council but as the Parish is so small it was felt unnecessary to incur further annual fees by purchasing a domain. Clerk to action.

WLDC Infrastructure Levy

The balance of the remaining funds available to spend stands at £1787.61.

Rubbish on the old A15

It was confirmed that the fly tipping rubbish in the area had been removed but to date no further rubbish had been removed after a request from Councillor Beattie. Councillor Deague reported that more rubbish had been dumped in the area. Councillors agreed this is a very difficult area to monitor and attempts to get the layby closed have always failed. It was agreed to order new litter signs for the area. Councillor Menzies to action.

. Village Hall Update

Mrs Thornhill, Cammeringham PC representative, informed the Clerk that the Village hall was running well with many up and coming organized events.

Village Venture

The Clerk confirmed an invoice from the Village Venture has been received but, even though the Parish Council does not use the publication, it is an important part of the community and it was agreed to make a payment of £100 in support. Clerk to action.

Other Village Issues

The Chairman confirmed that he was still looking into the possibility of installing a water supply to the Church. Councillor Deague suggested a water butt could be installed for watering flowers.

Next meeting 6pm 20th January 2026.

Annual Parish Meeting 19th May 2026.
