Minutes of Meeting held on Wednesday 4th September 2024

 

Present: Chairman Mr J Lockwood, Councillors Beattie, Walter, Menzies, Deague and Clerk Mrs S Gregory.

These were read and approved.

No Matters arising

Agenda Items

Accounts

The accounts were circulated and approved.

The Chairman has renegotiated the insurance package reducing the fee by £100.

Annual outgoings remain similar to previous years so it was suggested that the annual precept should remain the same at £1000, to be confirmed at the next meeting.

WLDC Infrastructure Levy

The Parish has been awarded a share of receipts collected between 1 October 2022 and 31 March 2024 from the planning approval and sale of three new properties in the village totaling £3200. These funds may be spent within the next 5 years on infrastructure items which can be provided or maintained by the Parish Council.

The Clerk confirmed that £1284.31 had been spent so far leaving a balance of £1954.60.

Litter Pick

The date for next year’s litter pick was agreed for Sunday 16 March 2024. Councillor Beattie suggested it would be helpful to have bag holders and some better heavy duty waste bags, the Clerk to action.

. Village Hall Update

The Clerk confirmed that Mrs Thornhill was now representing Cammeringham on the Village Hall Committee and reported that the Village Hall was operating well, indoor bowls had started again for the winter. Bonfire tickets will be going on sale soon and the committee are looking into organising a race night, any fund-raising ideas would be welcome.

The Chairman stated that it is some time since the Parish donated any funds to the Village Hall so it was agreed to donate £200, the Clerk to action.

 

 

Village Venture

The Chairman confirmed that the publication of the Village Venture is to continue and it was agreed that the Parish should donate £100 to help support it. The Clerk to action by contacting Liz Murray to arrange the donation and to inform her about Grange Farm Energy Community Fund.

Solar Farms – West Burton, Cottam, Tillbridge, Gate Burton

The Chairman stated that Gate Burton solar farm had been approved and West Burton was next, 7000 Acres were hoping to force through a judicial review to slow down the process.

RAF Scampton – Asylum Seeker Site

Still waiting to hear what the new Government will do with the site.

Roads and Paths

The Chairman confirmed that Cammeringham Hill had been repaired and the pathway to Ingham had been reported to Fix My Street again. The Chairman encouraged everyone who was concerned about Blackthorn Lane to use Fix My Street to report any issues.
